What was your first experience with the internet? What year was that?

I think it was around 1998, when I was still in school. I was amazed that I could chat with people in real time (mIRC), play online games( Starcraft, Gunbound), and instantly access information, it felt like discovering a whole new world.

Who you are? What are a few key points that make you, you?

I’m a developer who enjoys building reliable systems and clean, maintainable code. I’m naturally curious, enjoy automating workflows (WP-CLI, Docker), care about performance, and stay calm and methodical when production issues arise.

Where in the world do you like to work?

Ideally on a sunny beach with ceviche and a cold beer. Realistically, anywhere with reliable internet, good lighting, and a comfortable workspace works perfectly for me.

What led you to work at Saucal?

I joined Saucal because I was looking for a high-bar engineering environment where I could grow quickly. The combination of challenging projects, strong teamwork, and a culture that values automation and solid engineering practices really stood out to me.

What is your favourite activity outside of work?

My favorite activity outside of work is playing football on the weekends. I also like relaxing with video games (especially StarCraft II) and listening to music.

What is your favourite food/beverage?

Food: Ceviche, Lomo Saltado, Aji de Gallina, Pastel de Papa, Rocoto relleno, Pollo a la brasa, Picante a la tacneña. Drinks: Pisco Sour, Chicha morada, Red Ale beer.

Most interesting story or factoid about you?

I started web development early in university and was fascinated by how everything worked. I was especially inspired by the creativity people achieved with Flash back then. Even though Flash eventually disappeared (Apple played a big role in that), it pushed the web forward and JavaScript stepped in to fill the gap and has been evolving ever since.
