Our story began over ten years ago when two young Canadians, Mitchell Callahan and Dominik Sauter, met at university. Like most students, they were figuring out what they wanted to do with their lives but shared a passion for the infinite possibilities of the open internet.

Mitch grew up in the wilds of Yellowknife, just about as far north as you can get before you hit the arctic, and the internet opened up a new world for him. Dom, raised in his parents’ downtown Ottawa hotel, met global travelers but didn’t explore the world himself until he too ventured online.

Their shared realization? The internet was more than a tool – it was a teleporter that brought the world to them, sparking their passion for an open, accessible online space. This drive formed the foundation of Saucal.
